Meet Ken Hoover

In many ways, you could consider Ken Hoover an average guy. He’s a Kansas City native who is proud to be an active part of this community. He’s a dedicated family man, who enjoys nothing more than quality time with his wife, Amy, and their two boys, Kenny and Jacob. On a typical weekend, he might play a round of golf with some friends or host a barbecue while watching a Chiefs game. The truth is, Ken can find common ground with just about anyone he meets and fittingly, this is one of the abilities that make him truly stand out.

Personal Values

Ken is the type of person you feel comfortable with from the very first moment you meet him. He’s very much down-to-earth and wears his personal values on his sleeve. Family, friends, community—these are the things that are most important to Ken. He also brings a strong work ethic to everything he does, a trait that he attributes to his upbringing. His parents owned the Little Platte Marina on Smithville Lake (which included boat rental and a small restaurant), which gave Ken firsthand experience in business management and customer service.

While he was helping run the family business, Ken broadened his horizons by joining the US Army Reserves, as well as earning his BA in Accounting from Park University. He ultimately accepted the General Manager position at a popular restaurant in Florida. But when Ken and Amy started their family, they wanted their kids to enjoy the same kind of quality lifestyle they enjoyed while growing up. So, they moved back to Kansas City and have been enjoying every moment of it. “This is my home and it always will be,” Ken says.
